Hot Setups

In The Garage--And On The Web

By Ed "Big Daddy" Roth

Ed "Big Daddy" RothGJust got out from under my '63 Nova, and like all the rest of you "shade tree mechanics," I got nailed with a t-shirt full of pine needles and grease, and a head of hair soaked in transmission fluid. But like anything else, I keep workin' on that mocheen and it's really comin' along great!

I've been gruntin' and squeezin' tryin' to get this '96 Camaro engine centered in the engine compartment 'cause the exhausts almost hit the shock towers, but I managed to get 1/2-inch on both sides. I knew I was gonna have a problem with the wiring that makes the fuel injection system work, so many months ago I started pokin' my nose into the computer and checkin' out what the "Hot Setup" was for aftermarket wiring harnessesand what was "NEW" at Curries for 9-inch Ford limited slip differentials. Each time I do this, I learn a lot about new products, about the Internet...and about my Nova. Everytime I log onto Summit Racing or Street & Performance down in Mena, AR (etc. etc.) I end up buying someting that I really need. (Yeah, RIGHT!)

The Internet is a real important part of our garages, and I feel bad about you dudes that ain't familiar with the process. It's become such an important part of the "scene" that a lot of the big-time catalog speed shops are stopping their catalogs and depending entirely on Internet sales of their products. So get hep! and climb on board that cyber technology and make your next "dream rod" better and faster...!
