LIFE TOGETHER IN THE SIGN BUSINESS

When Randy
stopped to ask Jeanne if she wanted to do more holiday splashes, neither of them knew that
they would fall in love at first sight.They talked on the phone for several months before
they both realized that they were deeply in love with each other. Eventually the
Bellflower to Lomita phone calls and driving trips became too expensive for them and
decided to move in together and they became a family of four.

| After a short
time, Randy and Jeanne opened their first shop together. A year and a half later, after
building the business up, they sold the shop, bought and refurbished a small travel
trailer and were planning to go on the road until their boys had to go to school full
time. But the trip wasn't to be, Jeanne found out that she was pregnant and her doctor
wouldn't allow a road trip. |

Since they had already sold
the shop and given notice on their house, they decided to move up to the San Gabriel
mountains where they lived for almost two years. During this time, Randy worked for
Hollywood Signs, Scoville Signs and Dale's Signs and did some side work that Jeanne could
help him with at home. After their daughter Amanda was born, they moved to the Bellflower
area and opened another sign shop. After two years, Randy and Jeanne took a short vacation
to Kansas, leaving the children in the care of relatives. Jeanne fell in love with the
open spaces of the Midwest and in 1987 they decided to move there.
