Thanks to Tog and Sharkman at www.eurodragster.com for the photos.

Completing the package are Manley pushrods and stainless steel valves, complete with K-Motion valve springs and titanium retainers. Sitting on top of the engine is an Edelbrock victor manifold and Holley 1050 dominator carb. We also run Hedman headers, NGK spark plugs and a MSD pro billet distributor attached to a MSD blaster coil and MSD 7AL-2 spark booster. All of our engine work including the lightening of the pistons and all of the machining was done by ICE Automotive Racing Engines.

Rat Fink Super Gas with New  Logo Art.

The transmission is a reverse shift pattern, manual valve bodied Art Carr TH400. attached to the 'box is a 8" 5000 RPM stall torque converter and Ultra Bell bell housing. We built the cooling system ourselves and it is based around a Ford Sierra diesel radiator. Completing the whole thing are a set of Competition Engineering wheelie bars and a Simpson 'chute.

Last year we ran the car in Super Comp complete with an NOS Pro Shot fogger nitrous kit. We used to bring the gas in at 4.5 seconds and estimated the power output at about 1300 bhp. We ran a best of 8.87@156 with small jets in and my Dad backed of the throttle well early.

This year The sponsor of the team (my Dad!) decided to go into Super Gas as new rules over here meant that he would've had to buy a Pro Modified spec fire suit to continue running Nitrous. Another factor was that us Brits seem to be following America's lead and running dragsters and roadsters in Super Comp and the old 2800lb (With Driver) Camaro doesn't quite react as quickly! So now the nitrous is gone and we're having a ball in Super Gas, and were even winning! Dyno tests show me now make 800 bhp and the car should run 9.1 second E.T's @ 150 MPH. We have a best 60ft. time of 1.208 seconds running without gas.

0-60 MPH = 1.5 seconds

0-100 MPH = 4.8 seconds

0-150 MPH = 9.1 seconds

The remaining race dates for us are as follows:

July 1-2 Santa Pod raceway - The Cannonball
July 29-30 Shakespeare County Raceway - Super Series 3
August 26-28 Shakespeare County Raceway - Super Series 4
September 8-10 Santa Pod raceway - The European Finals
September 23-24 Shakespeare County Raceway - Super Series 5
October 7-8 Santa Pod raceway - National Finals

There is also a possibility of us going to Hockenheim in Germany at the beginning of August (depending on funds)

Finally the car had a two page feature in the April 2000 issue of Custom Car and the new art work on the side of the car and at the top of the screen was drawn by me and then produced in Vinyl by DJN signs, a small sponsor of ours

Once again many thanks to you and Mr. Roth for allowing us to use the Rat Fink name and giving us this big honor.

Cheers Mate!
Lee

P.S Rat Fink for president!
