"Cory Lee" News Flash June 17th 2000 Pro Motorsports / Rat Fink™/ Team Nasty Racing |
The Pro Motorsports/ Rat Fink™ Teams Spirits are High The Rat Fink™ is Back June 17, Blaine, MN- After a rough start to the season the Minnesota based Pro Motorsports/ Rat Fink™ Nitro Funny Car has qualified for The Pontiac Excitement Nationals in Columbus,OH. The car ran an elapsed time of 5.075 seconds at a speed of 307.44 miles per hour. The week prior to the Pontiac Excitement Nationals the team faced some challenges. The Pro Motorsports/ Rat Fink™ team rolled into Columbus despite the fact they were missing a primary sponsor and Crew Chief. Driver Cory Lee overcame adversity this weekend by doing double duty after parting ways with former Crew Chief, Mike Smith. That was one of the advantages of having Lee as the driver. He knows Funny Cars inside and out. An ecstatic Cory Lee stated, "The track and weather conditions were not easy to tame this weekend. Even some of the best teams like John Force were having problems. Fortunately, Mark Conyers and the rest of the crew pulled it off. Hopefully this is only the start of the good things to come for the team." Betsy Ross |
