Some Stuff Makes It...
Some Stuff Don't!

I looked thru my pictures back from the photo developers & spotted several that need explanation. First is that hand-carved mug Norm Grabowski is sportin' around the shows. Now, a lot of you dudes out there know Norm as the Dude that built the "Kookie Kar" for the 77 Sunset Strip TV series way back when. But I dig Norm as a craftsman who cranks out wooden mugs & skull shift knobs. He lives in Lead Hill, Arkansas & creates these art pieces for serious buyers.

Then there's the picture of the of the burning magnesium VW crank cases. It happens at Bonneville every year & some of those daredevils looking into the fire have welding goggles on. This is the blaze caused by torching 10 VW "Bug" engine cases...

& then there's that picture of the intake manifold I took off the Stealth 2000 engine. I took that puppy apart & welded up all the extra holes & had it all chromed out (polished aluminum), but it just looked too "yechie!" so I just threw it into the junkpile for the metal guy.

Some stuff "makes it" at my shop & some stuff don't...which brings me to the last picture of the "fallen" Rat Fink (TM) statues. I musta hit some o'those potholes on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, 'cause when I unloaded my stuff, they were all "wasted"...so I threw 'em into the trash pile in back of the house.

Life has its ups & downs, don't it?
