I've always been a big fan of Big Daddy's
wacky monster art. And I'm glad these kits are still available! I have a few other monster kits
I've built up and would consider it an honer to be shown in your on-line gallery.!? these kits
are fun to build and even more fun to paint.

Anyway, Here's pics and a list of some of the details for the
Scuz-Fink I built- modified ray-gun, flag pole, parachute pack,
extra fuel tanks for his jet-pack, also added a nose ring. The antenna are made from heated and stretched spru and attached
with electrical connectors, there's a very faded and worn NASA patch on his lower right shoulder.
Many layers of paint, nail polish and ink were used on his skin, the eyes, teeth and antenna glow in the dark,
foil was used on his space suit with washes of ink and paint to bring out detail and add rust and
corrosion. |
The background is a space scene I painted years ago for another project, the surfboard I scratch built from a
scrap piece of wood and painted with flames. And the base was painted to look like a lava flow
with nail polish, acrylic paint and rubbed on ink.

|

The base is placed amongst various quartz-like rocks. And the whole thing is lit with warm and cool lights.
What you cant see are fine & colorful metallic and pearl colors used on some of the
sufaces, like the mouth and lips
are sort of a candy-apple red. The skin has pearl and iridescent blue with green glitter nail polish, and some ink
rubbed on top of that. Hope all this rambling makes sense.
