Happy Jack Lister's Yellow Fang

When I saw the idea come up to make a model of the Yellow Fang I was interested. The more the guys on the rat Fink forum talked about it the more interested I became.

So I looked for pictures of the dragster and researched it. It looked very interesting. BUT, look at these guys on the forum I thought. They all build cars in the likeness of the Master Big Daddy Roth. How should I stack up to them.

My wife said to me, just do it for fun! Something to keep on the shelf and call it my own. You guys are an inspiration!

So I looked around at pieces I had accumlated over the years and whittled on some different woods and decieded on Balsa which was a mistake. It is to soft and when it got down to the details of the dragster, it broke.
The rear of the car was also a question mark until some friends went to Ocala and took pictures of the dragster before it was restored and sent them to me.

Years ago a friend sent me a 1/24th scale die cast metal dragster called "Beebe & Mulligan, AA/FD" it was a front engine dragster that had been broken in shipment to me. So I used the pieces. I dug a whole so the whole frame could fit and another for the engine could attach to the frame after it was in the wooded body. The canopy was probably the hardest thing to form.
